Sam has a wedge TPLO
Sam has found the vet’s exit door, having been in for his 6 week check up after a Wedge TPLO, treating cruciate ligament rupture associated with excessively steep tibial plateau.
Wedge TPLO was originally described in the 80’s, but remains an excellent option for these small terriers who tend to have plateau angles above 30 degrees, and so would require a very big rotation if an Slocum (rotational) TPLO was performed as we do in larger breeds.
We’ve performed 218 spinal surgeries on local pets
This Saturday afternoon we’ve seen our second spinal surgical case in the last three days, a miniature dachshund referred with Grade II thoracolumbar spinal dysfunction following T12-13 disc extrusion, localised with myelography and decompressed with a minihemilaminectomy.
Since A30referrals was established in 2008, we’ve performed 218 spinal surgeries on local pets.
